Nattie

Nattie Marston, NASM-CES

Nattie holds a BA in Psychology from James Madison University and has grown up in the sport and fitness world as a former varsity soccer, lacrosse and basketball player. From personal experience, Nattie knows that physical activity plays a very positive role in life. It has taught her to work hard to improve her game, using sports and exercise as an outlet for stress, maintaining health, and helping to form a positive attitude when dealing with her own injuries and facing challenges of all varieties.

After college, Nattie moved to Boston where she started her career in the Fitness world as a certified personal trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). Once she dove into the field, she was eager to expand her expertise and broaden her impact. Nattie took some time off to explore the benefits of Yoga. She took a 30-day yoga detox retreat and workshop in Singapore where she learned about nutrition and the mind-body benefits of yoga. She applied the lessons learned from this experience to broaden her practice to help others change habits, mindset, and change fitness practices in a hollistic approach.

Having battled her own set of injuries and seeing others in pain, she investigated the physical therapy field, working as the Lead Physical Therapy Tech and personal trainer at a Physical Therapy clinic in Chevy Chase, MD. She collaborated with very knowledgeable therapists who taught her valuable training tactics that she continues to incorporate into her programs today.

Volunteering with a non-profit organization in India, Nattie spent four months conducting Malnutrition Assessments for young children in the Gujarat slums. She also dedicated time learning and practicing the art of meditation and mindfulness, appreciating the many benefits it offers to living a healthier, happier life. Nattie also helped plan a co-ed sports and educational camp for kids living in one of the slums.

Upon returning from her travels, Nattie knew she wanted to learn more about corrective exercise and became certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Nattie is passionate about working with people who want to move without pain, improve their overall wellness, and optimize their workouts to reach their individual goals.

Locally, Nattie is on the board for Dreams for Kids – a non-profit that empowers children with physical and mental disabilities through planned sports clinics with professional teams such as the Nationals and Capitals. She loves seeing the positive impact physical activity has on youth.

Most importantly, Nattie’s natural enthusiasm and passion for making a difference at every training session energizes her clients to work to their fullest, being mindful, and experiencing more satisfaction in many areas of their life. Individuals not only reach their goals, but also discover positive changes in their lives that they had not expected and are motivated to continue setting new goals to live life fully.
